DEC: Johnstown hunter rescued in Stratford after possible stroke in woods

STRATFORD - A Johnstown hunter was rescued after suffering a possible stroke in the woods in Stratford, the state Department of Environmental Conservation said.

The man, 84, was taken by helicopter for treatment, officials said. His condition was not included in a release. The incident happened Friday evening, just before 7:30 p.

m., officials said. Fulton County requested ranger assistance for a hunter who was thought to have suffered a stroke in the woods, officials said.



Three forest rangers responded, along with Stratford Fire and EMS. They reached the man at about 9 p.m.

They packaged him in a litter and drove him out on an ATV to a waiting ambulance, officials said. -.
