Dear Vicki: Has my company been too stingy about giving gifts to loyal customers at Christmas?

Q As an SME owner, I have noticed that a lot of my rivals send pretty lavish gifts to customers at this time of year. My policy has been more conservative and, after a middling year of trading, I’m starting to wonder if I am missing out on an opportunity and maybe I should be conspicuously generous this year.

What do you think the best policy is with regard to Christmas corporate gifting? I genuinely want to show appreciation to my clients, but how can I approach this without overstepping any boundaries?.
