DC leads Vehari into a new era of development

Vehari - With a clear vision and unwavering commitment to public welfare, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Imrana Tauqeer is steering Vehari towards a new era of progress and civic responsibility. In two significant meetings, the district administration took decisive steps — approving Rs379.2 million worth of development schemes and intensifying efforts under the Chief Minister’s Suthra Punjab (Clean Punjab) Programme.

At the District Development Committee session, a total of 20 projects were sanctioned, including 10 under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Local Government, one for the Municipal Committee Vehari, one each for the Forest and Minority Departments, and seven schemes under the Urban Regeneration Plan initiated by the District Council. DC Imrana Tauqeer stressed, “There will be no compromise on the quality of development. Timely execution and strict monitoring of all projects is essential to ensure real benefits reach the people.



” She reaffirmed that the Punjab government is fully committed to delivering services that directly improve the quality of life for its citizens. In a separate high-level meeting on the Suthra Punjab Programme, performance regarding waste collection and solid waste management across Vehari was thoroughly reviewed. The DC called for immediate improvement in the system, adding, “Daily progress will now be monitored, and public complaints must be addressed without delay.

” She also instructed officials to enhance public awareness through the installation of panaflex banners in key areas, emphasising the need for visible improvement in cleanliness. “Every possible resource will be used to fulfil the Chief Minister’s vision of a cleaner, healthier Punjab,” she said.
