James Gunn’s Superman is almost here, and one new clip has caused fans to fight over whether the new movie will be worth the watch.

Tensions are rising within the DC community as James Gunn’s Superman approaches, and a new viral clip from the upcoming flick are making things even more intense. Set to fly onto screens on July 11, the new Superman movie is just one part of a spectacular month, including Jurassic Park Rebirth and Fantastic Four. But the superhero movie is gaining more attention than the rest, and following a series of teasers and sneak peeks for the new movie , fans are becoming divided over whether Gunn’s vision of the character can live up to the hype set by Zack Snyder’s previous go around.

And now, a clip featuring Superman driven mad by pain is circulating, causing some DC diehards to question whether this will be a movie for them. Superman sun clip divides fans over new movie The clip in question (recorded at CinemaCon) features a battle-worn Superman being taken care of by a group of robots. As part of the healing process, he’s exposed to the raw power of the sun.

He screams in agony, either from the sun exposure itself or from the stress of his body healing itself. Historically, the sun is often used to restore Superman’s powers, so it would make sense for the latter to be the case here. However, upon the clip’s release (plus another featuring Superman wincing in pain after an enthusiastic reunion with his powered pub, Krypto), fans have wondered if James Gunn is actually misreading Superman’s relationship with the sun.

This can’t be real right??? 😭😂🤣 pic.twitter.com/I7xtyiAFj5 What’s more, they’re not too happy with seeing their beloved superhero experiencing and expressing extreme pain.

Related Superman just beat an impressive record held by The Batman “Snyder’s Superman literally took a nuke at point blank range and healed from the sun without feeling any pain from its radiation, which is accurate in the comics. Gunn’s mediocre interpretation is screaming in agony,” said one X user . Another agreed, adding , “James Gunn gets it, they said.

He won’t make it a stupid comedy, they said. They said he understood the assignment. That was the worst Superman clip I have ever seen.

It’s an utter joke and it’s all about Krypto.” Another simply wrote, “This can’t be real, right???” However, other DC fans are still willing to give it a chance, and are coming out to defend the clip. As one user wrote , “‘We lost Darkseid fighting the Justice League for this’ and then its the most awesome Superman footage you have ever seen.

” “Gunn is simply better at this comic book movie sh*t than anyone else. We’re lucky to have him on a Superman movie,” another added . Superman arrives in theaters on on July 11.
