Dazed and Confused actor Nicky Katt dies aged 54 as industry peers pay tribute

The Dazed and Confused actor was last seen acting in 2018 in the Hulu original series Casual, and is now believed to have died aged 54

Boston Public actor Nicky Katt is believed to have died, aged 54. The cause of death is not yet confirmed. Katt rose to fame in indie film Dazed and Confused as well as starring as Harry Senate in several seasons of Boston Public on TV.

The actor also held roles in A Time to Kill and Boiler Room as well as The Way of the Gun, SubUrbia, Insomnia and School of Rock. He also featured in the Woody Allen play A Second Hand Memory. Born May 11, 1970 in South Dakota , Katt first began acting at aged seven, appearing in 1977 TV series CHiPs.



More TV guest spots followed in adulthood, including on Voyagers!, Trapper John, M.D., Quincy, M.

E., V and The Facts of Life. Katt also lent his voice to the animated The Get Along Gang in the mid-1980s, and in Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords.

Whilst he built up a varied TV and theatre acting career, his last credited TV role was in 2018 on the Hulu original series Casual. The actor had no children, and was previously married to Annie Morse from 1999 until their divorce in 2001. No cause of death has been confirmed as of yet, with news of the actor's passing coming via Deadline .

Tributes for Katt have already begun to pour in as news of his passing has become public. On social media, Flynn Picture Company CEO Beau Flynn wrote: "Heartbroken to learn about the way too early passing of the seriously talented actor #NickyKatt - God bless you my friend ..

" Another came from film critic Barry Hertz as he shared: "Nicky Katt should’ve/could’ve been 2010’s Walton Goggins. Phenomenal in everything from Boston Public to Planet Terror. RIP.

" Fans of the actor have also started to share their own tributes to the star, as one wrote: "Oh man. he was such a good character actor, this is a bummer." Another posted: "He was wonderful in his roles.
