Some teams experience unexpected challenges each season. This year is no different, as several college football powerhouses are trying to determine what went wrong. One of the teams in question is the Michigan Wolverines.

Fresh off their recent national championship, it seems unlikely they will return to the College Football Playoff this year, marking the first time they won't make it since 2020. Former ESPN "College GameDay" analyst David Pollack stated on his YouTube channel, "David Pollack College Football," that he believes the Wolverines can "pack it in" this season, primarily due to poor quarterback play. "Michigan fans, I'm sorry, I think you can pack it in," Pollack said.

"It's been a year. They always say when you have multiple quarterbacks, you don't have one. They don't have one.

" Ron Johnson-Imagn Images The Wolverines have used three quarterbacks this season, but none have been effective. Davis Warren started the season completing 66.7% of his passes for 444 yards and two touchdowns.

However, he has struggled with turnovers, throwing six interceptions over the course of three games. Alex Oriji, the projected starter before the season, took over the role after a few games. He has played in all six games but didn't start until three games ago against the USC Trojans.

So far, he has thrown for 148 yards, with three touchdowns and one interception, with a completion percentage of 53.5%. His greatest strength is his running ability; he has recorded 35 carries for 124 yards this year.

Since taking over, Jack Tuttle has completed 60% of his passes in two games, totaling 306 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. The Wolverines lack a clear solution at quarterback, causing their playoff chances to fade. Related: Paul Finebaum Names College Football Powerhouse With 'Zero' Shot at Winning it All.
