It wasn't that long ago that the New York Jets' sideline was devoid of energy, to the point that players weren't even celebrating good plays made by their teammates. Much was made of the Jets' lack of energy against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 37-15 loss, and while things got better the following week against the New England Patriots, again, in a loss, there were small differences. And then came the win over the Houston Texans in which after a horror first half, the Jets clicked into gear in the second, having their three drives all end in touchdowns.

Receiver Davante Adams has noticed a shift in mentality from the locker room in recent weeks. "I think it was more about just the focus of being more celebratory in each other's success and just celebrating each play and being in the moment," Adams said . "Because even since then, even times where we haven't done great right to Malachi [Corley], dropped the ball short like you saw the energy was different.

Two, three weeks ago, guys would have been quiet, heads down on the sideline, but just after kind of bringing a little bit more attention to it and making them aware, I think that awareness kind of fits them." Ed Mulholland-Imagn Images Adams is right. Corley's "dropped" touchdown against the Texans had the chance to suck all the energy not only out of the stadium but the team as well.

But the Jets rallied and got their first win in five games. Now, with the Arizona Cardinals up next, the hope is that the energy shift continues and that New York can play free, not tight and anxious as they were in the first half against the Texans. And as it turns out, it's all down to what transpired above the shoulders..
