In his address when officiating at the event at Kompleks Sukan Satok here on Saturday, he highlighted the importance of community involvement in fostering a vibrant and unified society. He also pointed out that Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) consistently encourages the city’s residents to actively participate in various community activities conducted throughout the year. “This approach not only aims to strengthen bonds among residents but also empowers the community across social, economic and cultural dimensions.
“I fully support and encourage the organisation of such programmes as they serve to be an excellent platform to attract the younger generation to participate in activities focused on health,” he said. Moreover, Hilmy expressed hope that the two-day event conducted over the weekend would yield long-term benefits by enhancing the quality of life and well-being of the community. Fiesta Satok 5.
0 marks the fifth collaborative programme organised by the Kejiranan Mesra (KJM) Satok groups, involving all nine KJMs in the Satok constituency, and supported by DBKU. The initiative aims to foster camaraderie and a spirit of cooperation, uniting all KJMs in pursuit of greater unity and resilience. The event featured a variety of engaging activities, including a Poco-Poco Marathon, a netball tournament and a karaoke competition.
