Date set, grand marshals selected for this year's North Augusta Christmas Parade

The 2024 North Augusta Lions Club Christmas Parade is set for Sunday, Dec. 8, and it's theme is "Game Time." And the Grand Marshals? They're the owners of a downtown toy store.

The 2024 Lions Club Christmas Parade in North Augusta is a veritable Santa’s sack of playfulness as its theme celebrate all things friendly competition: come 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec.

8, it’s “Game Time.” That means board games, video games, game shows and sports will be the mode du jour all down Georgia Avenue. The Game Time theme was chosen for how games of all stripes bring families and friends together.



And this year’s grand marshals will be Jayson and Aubrey Hinkson, owners of Orange Otter Toy Store . “Jayson and Aubrey have been instrumental in creating a playful and engaging environment for our community,” said Terra Carroll, Activities Chair for the North Augusta Lions Club. “Their commitment to fostering family fun and learning aligns perfectly with our parade’s theme, and we are honored to have them as our grand marshals.

” North Augusta's Lions Field to host 44th annual Rotary Bowl football tournament Nov. 9 The North Augusta High School band performed down Georgia Avenue during the annual Lions Club Christmas Parade in 2021. The Hinksons, both Jayson and Aubrey, and their kids Parker and Dawson, “embody the spirit of this theme as they have dedicated their lives to promoting imaginative play and creativity through their toy store,” according to the Oct.

27 news release announcing the details of the parade. The parade is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 8, at 3 p.

m. and will have floats from local businesses and organizations traveling down Georgia Avenue, with performances on the side. It will also be a time for spectators to come dressed as their favorite game characters or represent their favorite sports teams.
