It's been a challenging beginning to the season for Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez, who is yet to start a game, let alone score under new Reds boss Arne Slot Darwin Nunez has seemingly made his Instagram page private following a tough beginning to the new season. The 25-year-old, who hasn't started a game yet under new Liverpool boss Arne Slot, is yet to find to find the back of the net in four appearances thus far. The Uruguayan has been restricted to cameo roles in the first month of the campaign, having come off the bench four times.

He didn't make it onto the pitch at all in the season-opening 2-0 win over Ipswich Town last month. Nunez will undoubtedly be disappointed with his start to the season, and some Liverpool fans have spotted that the forward appears to have made his Instagram profile private to people who don't follow him. No explanation has been given by the striker for his decision to limit who can view his Instagram profile, although it may be a reaction to the online criticism he received after Liverpool's 1-0 defeat at home against Nottingham Forest last weekend. It was Nunez who lost the ball in the opposition half that allowed Forest to counter, with Callum Hudson-Odoi eventually scoring the winner. It is the second time in just a few months that the club's number nine has made changes to his Instagram profile.

Four months ago, he deleted all but one of his Liverpool-related posts from his Instagram account after a disappointing display in a 4-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur. Fans have had their say on Nunez' struggles, with one agreeing with his Instagram decision by writing: "Good. He is obviously a sensitive chap so it's best for all really.

If social media makes you sad/depressed...

time to switch off or put boundaries". Ahead of Saturday's (September 21) clash against Bournemouth, Slot told Nunez what he must do if he wants to reignite his career in red and warned that he faces stern competition in the form of Diogo Jota. "He needs the same as all the others, work really hard and the goals will come," the Dutchman said.

"That's what he did against [AC] Milan , he came in for the team and then as a result of that attackers have goals or assists. It happened with Cody [Gakpo] so if you play for a team like Liverpool you'll get them [goals and assists]. "For me, it's the work you do without the ball.

He will get his chance in the near future, we play a lot of games, he is fitter and fitter and understands day by day what we want from him. But he's in competition with Diogo [Jota] who has done well." Nunez will hope to make his first start of the season against the Cherries this weekend who he scored a brace against last season in a 4-0 win at the Vitality Stadium.
