The weekly paper was name dropped during the Final Chase on Wednesday's (January 29) episode of the hit gameshow. The question was asked to contestants Noel and John, who were the last two remaining after players Rachel and Sian were beaten by ‘The Vixen’ Jenny Ryan. As they took on The Vixen for the final time during the episode, host Bradley Walsh asked: "What publication is the Darlington and Stockton Times?” (Image: ITV) Noel quickly buzzed in and answered with newspaper, which of course is the correct answer, moving the team one podium up the ladder.
It took Noel roughly two seconds to answer the question before they went on to answer questions on harpists, US rapper Lil Wayne, actor Mel Gibson, and the Nissan Micra. The pair went on to get 17 answers correct - but sadly it wasn’t enough to beat The Vixen, who caught up with the players with 20 seconds left on the clock. Noel and John had amassed £10,000 between them before the final chase, meaning they lost out on a cool £5,000 each after The Vixen's victory.
