Charlie Cox had to call his bosses to insist he didn't tell anyone he is portraying Daredevil in 'Avengers: Doomsday', after an online casting assumption. The 42-year-old actor has clarified he is not playing the Devil of Hell's Kitchen in the forthcoming film, and admitted he felt "terrible" when such speculation emerged. Cox had been working out at DFRNT Health and Fitness in Western Australia over Christmas, and the gym owners posted a picture of him and his wife Sam in the health club with the caption: "Charlie is currently training for his role in the upcoming Avengers movie.
" However, the star is gearing up to star in Disney+ series 'Daredevil: Born Again' rather than 'Avengers: Doomsday'. He told Entertainment Weekly: "I was there for Christmas with my family. "And on the last day, they asked if they could take a picture with me, which we did.
"I had said to them, 'I'm getting ready to play Daredevil,' because I am! "I'm getting ready to play Daredevil in season two of 'Daredevil: Born Again'. "Sometimes people who aren't really in the [entertainment] world, they don't understand the terminology or whatever, but for some reason they posted that and they put, 'Getting ready for his role in the 'Avengers',' which is not true. "I felt terrible.
I had to call my bosses and say, 'I didn't say that,' obviously. "Why would I say that? Why would I make something like that up?" However, Cox believes the gym owners "got confused" as opposed to making up the speculation. He added: "I don't think they made it up.
I think they just got confused about what it is. I don't know." In August, the star hinted he wants Daredevil to appear alongside the Avengers in a future Marvel movie.
When Screen Rant asked Cox who he’d like to see Daredevil team up with, he said: "I have to be so careful. Look, I can't!; I'm not going to say, there's so many. "There's one particular group of people that I would like to be invited to play with .
.. But we'll get into that a little bit later.
