A quick look at Pagasa’s data would show that the country’s highest heat index on April 25 is seen to be recorded in Dagupan City in Pangasinan at 45°C.

This applies to Pagasa’s monitoring stations at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City as well as the Science Garden in Quezon City. Although a 40°C heat index does not reach the danger threshold, Pagasa still warned residents in these areas to be “extremely cautious” as continued exposure under the sun with this type of heat could still cause heat stroke.
