UFC welterweight Daniel Frunza entered his promotional debut at UFC Vegas 105 with a lot of hype, but left the cage with a loss and a blood-splattered face. Frunza and Rhys McKee squared off in a welterweight matchup on the UFC Vegas 105 prelims.

McKee and Frunza were both looking to notch their first UFC victory, and McKee is in his second promotional stint after previous struggles in the Octagon. Entering UFC Vegas 105 with a lot of pressure on his shoulders, McKee put on the best performance of his career , knocking down Frunza four times in the opening round. After Frunza made it to the horn, the doctor waved off the fight as Frunza suffered from multiple serious lacerations.

But Frunza showcased superior toughness against McKee given the four early knockdowns. Frunza earned a brutal second-round finish in his DWCS showcase over Vadym Kutsyi.

Before that win, Frunza made a name for himself in LFA, including a buzzer-beating finish at LFA 170 to earn the attention of the UFC matchmakers. As for McKee, he etched his first UFC win at UFC Vegas 105. After earlier UFC losses to Khamzat Chimaev and Alex Morono, McKee is a name to watch in the welterweight division as 2025 presses on.

Frunza vs. McKee wasn’t the only highlight at UFC Vegas 105. UFC middleweight star Torrez Finney earned a debut win , albeit in sluggish fashion, to prove White wrong in his previous assessments.

UFC fans scorched strawweight fighter Vanessa Demopoulos after her UFC Vegas 105-opening loss on the prelims.
