Prayagraj: The permanent barricading installed by the Shringverpur Mahotsav Jai Shri Ram Seva Samiti at Shringverpur Dham in Prayagraj has been damaged, causing difficulties for devotees , boatmen, and shopkeepers in the area. Locals allege that without any barricading visitors are parking their four-wheelers right next to the Ganga banks causing problems for shopkeepers nearby. Also, with the four-wheelers reaching quite close to the Ganga bank it has raised concerns about potential accidents, especially with the floodwater of the Ganga reaching the stairs of Shri Ram Ghat and the Shringi Rishi temple.

According to Shringverpur Tirtha Kshetra trust president, Arun Dwivedi, "The barricading was installed by the trust on their personal expense after getting approval of the police and administration. We have apprised the district administrative officials that there is an urgent need for reinstalling the damaged barricades." The trust members said the barricades must be put up again to prevent the ghat area from getting overcrowded, thereby making things easier for all devotees coming to the ghat and the temple.

"I am a regular visitor of the temple, and when the four-wheelers were parked a few metres away from the temple and the ghat, there was sufficient space for pedestrians. But now, with the two and four-wheelers parking haphazardly and the encroachment of the shopkeepers, things have become worse for elderly people like me," said a septuagenarian from the nearby village of Shringverpur..
