Daewoong Pharmaceutical is embarking on primate research in collaboration with the Institute of Pertanian Bogor (IPB), known for its top-tier veterinary research capabilities in Indonesia. On June 27th, Daewoong Pharmaceutical announced that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for joint research on primates with IPB, home to Indonesia's leading veterinary school. The specific areas of cooperation include establishing a specialized primate research center at IPB, commercializing pharmaceuticals and medical devices through primate research, and supporting the growth of talented veterinarians.

The establishment of a primate research center aims to enhance the reliability of preclinical results by conducting research on primates that have natural diseases similar to those in humans. This move secures competitiveness in the preclinical stage of evaluating toxicity and efficacy of drug candidates before human administration. This collaboration will be carried out through a partnership with 'PSSP,' an organization under IPB that has been conducting primate research for over 30 years.

PSSP (Pusat Studi Satwa Primata) is a research institution in medicine, biology, and zoology that obtained full accreditation from AAALAC (Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care) in 2006. AAALAC is an international nonprofit organization that establishes and evaluates ethical and welfare standards for animal experiments. With active collaborative research wi.
