We reported in 2023 that Tamil star Dhanush is teaming up with filmmaker Mari Selvaraj once again after 2021’s Karnan for a film produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films. Now, on Wednesday (April 9), Dhanush announced that the film will be bankrolled by Ishari K Ganesh under his Vels Film International banner. The news was announced on the fourth-year anniversary of Karnan .

2021’s Karnan was an intense drama about an oppressed village’s fight against injustice. The film also starred Rajisha Vijayan, Natarajan Subramaniam, Lal, Yogi Babu, Gouri G Kishan, and Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli among others. Dhanush, last seen in Raayan , has his 51st film, Kuberaa , directed by Sekhar Kammula; Idli Kadai , his own directorial; and Tere Ishq Mein , directed by Aanand L Rai, in the pipeline.
