Star Correspondent After a nightmarish first half in which they scored only seven points while sleepwalking through the motions, the Elizabethton Cyclones finally got an eye-popping jolt at halftime that jarred them to attention. The result was a 35-point second half that carried the Cyclones to a 42-0 blanking of the Boone Blazers at William B. Greene Jr.

Stadium on the campus of ETSU in Friday night football action. Rhett Slagle went 9-of-13 for 117 yards and two scores, adding a rushing touchdown. The Wallin cousins — Zach, Justius, and J-Bird — each collected one score in the win.



CJ Mathes added a rushing touchdown, while Justin Whitehead caught one of Slagle’s touchdown passes. A breakdown of the game will be in the STAR ‘s Wednesday edition..
