Curling Pilipinas duo Marc Pfister and Kathleen Dubberstein fell short against China's Han Yu and Wang Zhiyu, 6-5, in the bronze medal match of the mixed doubles event in the 2025 Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China on Saturday. The Philippines had a 4-0 advantage after the first two ends, but went scoreless in the next five as the Chinese duo claimed a 6-4 lead by the seventh end. In the eighth end, China was scoreless, but the Philippines scored only one to fall short of a podium finish.
The duo had a resounding start in its campaign as it won its first three matches in the round robin before falling to China, 9-6. Pfister and Dubberstein bounced back against Kazakhstan, 11-2, to finish the said round with a 4-1 record and advance to the semis qualifier . In the semis qualifier, the Philippines defeated Chinese Taipei, 7-2, but lost to Japan, 10-3, in the semis .
The men's and women's curling teams will commence their campaign on Sunday.
