Dequan Finn won the starting quarterback job at Baylor coming out of preseason camp. He may not be the quarterback who lines up against Colorado, however, when the Bears visit Folsom Field on Saturday (6 p.m.

, Fox). Finn started the first two games of the year for Baylor (2-1), but missed last week’s game with an injury while Sawyer Robertson got the start. Colorado (2-1) will be ready either way.

“I don’t know which quarterback they’re going to feature this week, but we’re preparing for both quarterbacks,” CU head coach Deion Sanders said. “You’ve got to prepare like you’re going to prepare for both of them, but one guy features a different asset than the other, that’s definitely true.” Finn is a sixth-year senior who transferred to Baylor in the offseason after five years at Toledo.

A three-year starter for the Rockets, he threw for 7,070 yards and 63 touchdowns and ran for 1,836 yards and 25 touchdowns. He was named first-team All-MAC last year. In Baylor’s season-opening 45-3 win against Tarleton State, Finn threw for 192 yards and two touchdowns (also two interceptions) and ran for a score, but he was banged up in a 23-12 loss at Utah the next week, when he went 9-for-21 for 115 yards and a touchdown.

Robertson is a fourth-year junior who began his career with two seasons at Mississippi State. At Baylor in 2023, he made four starts and threw for 864 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions. He threw for 248 yards and no touchdowns in a 31-3 win against Air Force on Saturday, but Robertson (40 career carries for 74 yards) isn’t the running threat that Finn has been.

On Monday, Baylor coach Dave Aranda said, “We’re going right now day to day (at quarterback). Dequan is out of his sling. He was able to move around better (Monday).

There’s limitations on what we can do per day. I think we’re in a good spot.” Coming along From the time he signed his letter of intent in December, Jordan Seaton was penciled in as the starter for the Buffaloes at left tackle.

Despite being a true freshman, Seaton has been on the field at left tackle for all 197 offensive snaps this season. Coach Prime is pleased with the development of the 6-foot-5, 285-pounder. “Jordan is coming,” Sanders said.

“Slowly but surely he’s understanding footwork and technique is everything, because at this level, you can’t overpower, over muscle or out athletic others. He’s doing a great job of listening to some of the best teachers that I’ve seen in quite a long time. Phil (Loadholt) and Gunnar (White) and big George (Hegamin), all of them chime in to complete these guys.

But I love where Jordan is mentally and physically.” Notable CU and Baylor are both near the bottom of the Big 12 in sacks, with just four each. Only Texas Tech (two) and Central Florida (one) have fewer sacks.

The Buffs do rank sixth in the conference in tackles for loss (20), however, while Baylor is last (11)..
