CT man with multiple convictions sentenced for having guns during domestic incident arrest

A Connecticut man with a lengthy criminal history was sentenced to almost six years in federal prison on Tuesday after he was found with illegal guns during a domestic violence arrest in 2023. Shacquille Jackson, 31, of Bridgeport, was sentenced by U.S.

District Judge Stefan R. Underhill in Bridgeport to 70 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to unlawful possession of firearms by a felon on Sept. 18, 2024, according to the U.



S. Attorney’s Office . Jackson, who had an outstanding arrest warrant for a domestic violence incident, was spotted by law enforcement on Jan.

8, 2023, driving a car with license plates from another vehicle, court records show. After stopping the vehicle, Jackson reportedly ran from the car with a gun in his hand, according to court records. Officers caught Jackson and seized the handgun, which he had dropped, court records show.

According to court records, Jackson was found in possession of approximately 87 grams of cocaine, 19 grams of crack cocaine and $1,167 in cash. A search of his vehicle revealed “a semi-automatic handgun, an extended magazine loaded with 18 rounds of ammunition and a digital scale,” court records show. Jackson’s criminal history includes felony convictions for firearm, narcotics, robbery, burglary and larceny offenses, making it illegal for him to possess a firearm.

Jackson has been detained since his arrest, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
