Colorado State and new head coach Ali Farokhmanesh received a commitment from another former four-star recruit through the transfer portal over the weekend.Saturday, former Virginia Tech point guard Brandon Rechsteiner announced on social media that he had committed to the Rams after playing his sophomore season with the Hokies.Rechsteiner played in 32 games and started 15 last season, averaging 7.
0 points and 2.8 assists per game. He had a season-high 19 points in a game against California in the ACC tournament.
As a senior at Etowah High School in Georgia, he averaged 18 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2.
8 steals per game. He was a four-star and the 87th-best prospect in the class as a recruit by 247Sports.His commitment brings the total number of portal acquisitions for the Rams this cycle to four.

CSU will be a part of the 2025 Battle 4 Atlantis field in November, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reported last week.The Rams are expected to be one of four teams in the field that qualified for the 2025 NCAA Tournament. The other three are Saint Mary’s, Vanderbilt and VCU.
Rothstein reported that the other teams in the Battle 4 Atlantis field are Virginia Tech, South Florida, Western Kentucky and Wichita State.The tournament will take place Thanksgiving week. Dates and matchups for the games will be announced at a later date.
