The Charleston Regional Youth Apprenticeships at Trident Technical College (CRYA) is set to launch its 2025 program with an information session on Feb. 8. The event is geared toward high school students and their parents/guardians, but all interested community members are welcome to attend and learn about the youth apprenticeship program.

The event will be held in the College Center (Bldg. 920) at Trident Technical College’s Thornley Campus in North Charleston. Doors will open at 8:30 a.

m. Overview presentations will start at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m.

Representatives from local employers also will be available to meet students and answer questions. No registration is required. The CRYA program bridges the gap between education and the workforce with partnerships between local businesses and the college.

Through these partnerships, students gain real-world experience with paid apprenticeships that combine classroom instruction with on-the-job training. In addition, employers benefit from a pipeline of upcoming talent for the workforce. "We are thrilled to offer an even broader selection of pathways for our youth this year," said Melissa Stowasser, VP for community and continuing education.

"Our goal is to equip students with the skills and experience they need to succeed in their chosen careers, and we are grateful for the continued support of our community partners."
