Crusaders finish 2-1 at Hastings Tourney

PREP SOFTBALL HASTINGS – The Grand Island Central Catholic softball team finished 2-1 at the Hastings Classic Saturday. The Crusaders opened with a 5-3 win over Seward. Central Catholic scored all of its runs in the fifth inning.

Jacie Palik led the offense by going 2 for 3 with two RBIs. GICC then posted a 6-5 win over McCook in the second. The Crusaders used a four-run fifth inning to take the lead and never looked back.



Laura Blake was 2 for 3 with four RBIs with a double and home run. Central Catholic finished the tournament with a 16-11 loss to Class C, No. 2 Hastings St.

Cecilia. The Hawkettes took control with a 10-run third inning. Logan Rainforth was 1 for 2 with a home run and four RBIs, while Palik was 2 for 2 and Jocelyn Price was 2 for 3.
