Crores in cash seized during Nakabandi at Pune toll booth; Election Commission, IT probe underway

Representative image NEW DELHI: Pune rural police seized a significant amount of cash, suspected to be in crores, during a Nakabandi at Khed Shivapur toll booth late on October 21. The cash was discovered while officers were conducting routine checks. SP Pankaj Deshmukh confirmed that officials from the Election Commission and Income Tax department are present at Rajgad police station for further investigation.

"Counting of the seized cash is ongoing," he added, hinting at a possible link to electoral malpractice. (More details awaited).
