NBC announcer Cris Collinsworth has divided fans with his enthusiastic praise of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford. The former NFL wideout joined Mike Tirico in the NBC broadcast booth for the first Sunday Night Football of the 2024 season. Collinsworth and Tirico were on the call as the Rams took on the Detroit Lions in the Motor City.

Rams play-caller Stafford returned to his former team looking to lead Sean McVay's team to a win in Week 1. And one play from the 36-year-old veteran had Collinsworth in awe from the broadcast booth. Stafford completed a remarkable third-down pass from within his own 15-yard line late in the fourth quarter.
