Cris Collinsworth called this the throw of the year in Week 1 of the NFL season

Everybody is excited the 2024 NFL season is back. And we got our first taste of Sunday Night Football tonight, with Cris Collinsworth and Mike Tirico being on the broadcast for NBC. Collinsworth is well-known for his history of getting overly excited or overzealous about certain players or plays.

And we got another great example of that on Sunday night, when Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford was getting drilled by a couple of Lions defenders. Stafford was able to throw what was essentially a fade-away pass to receiver DeMarcus Robinson for the first down. Stafford drifted away from defenders, and made the throw.



Drawing hilarious reviews from Collinsworth, who called it the throw of the year. Keep in mind, it’s Week 1. Chris Collinsworth declared this throw of the year.
