Criddle signs with Ole Miss rifle: Sutter’s Fedora shooting at TCU

Ole Miss rifle head coach Rachel Martin inked Marysville native and Sutter Union High rifle team member Savannah Criddle to the program on National Signing Day 2024. Criddle is set to join the program next season. “Savannah stood out during the recruiting process as an individual who is highly competitive while also possessing great sportsmanship,” Martin said.

“These attributes are the foundation of our program and what we have been working so diligently to build at Ole Miss.” Criddle comes to Oxford as a highly experienced young competitor, and one already with team experience. She attended a prep program that is one of the most competitive programs in the nation, according to reports.



Criddle helped lead Sutter Union to first place finishes at the 2024 CMP Junior 3PAR western regional tournament and the Orion Air League in 2023. Earlier this year, Criddle contributed to her team while setting the national high school record for 4-position smallbore. She fired a 392 as Sutter Union scored 1581.

Sutter Union also posted a second place finish at the annual Best of the West competition in Lincoln in 2023. That season, Criddle was named team MVP by her coaches and teammates. As an individual, Criddle has experience competing in the Junior Olympic Rifle Championships, where she faced several of her new Ole Miss teammates and college competitors.

Fedora, TCU fall at West Virginia Sutter product Marissa Fedora was top-10 individually with a 1,175 smallbore aggregate score during TCU’s rifle match last week at then top-ranked West Virginia – a 4,731-4,725 defeat. The No. 3 Horned Frogs produced their fourth-highest aggregate score in the match and their third-highest smallbore (2,349) score.

Katie Zaun led all shooters with a 1,192 aggregate score. Sutter shotgun second in Zamora The Sutter Union High varsity shotgun team took second as a team in the series shoot at Quail Point Hunt Club in Zamora. The junior varsity took second in the series shoots and second in the state championships.

The junior shooters at Sutter won a first place squad award in the intermediate advanced division. Sutter’s varsity consists of Garrett Bartels, Ceasar Moulton and Tyler Siller. Its JV is represented by Manny Moulton, Connor Simpson and Nico Buttacavoli.
