Crash near two Eugene schools disrupts morning traffic

Five people, including children, were hospitalized on April 14 after a head-on crash at the intersection of Barger Drive and Primrose Street in Eugene, according to the Eugene Police Department. The intersection was closed off after the vehicle collision was reported at 8:52 a.m.

The collision appeared to involve a red Ford pickup truck and a silver Audi sedan. Emergency responders blocked access to the intersection as they assessed the scene. The severity of the injuries was unclear.



No information was immediately available regarding the cause of the collision. The intersection is located directly in front of Clear Lake Elementary School and Shasta Middle School. It was unclear whether school traffic was directly affected.

The road closure was lifted after about one hour. Eugene police officers were still on site as of mid-morning, and traffic was being diverted while the vehicles were being removed and the area was investigated. This article will be updated.
