On Friday, January 31, a car was involved in a crash on the A360 at Black Dog Crossroads, south of Devizes. Pictures of the scene show that at least one vehicle suffered significant damage in the smash while motorists reported heavy traffic in both directions at the time. The crossroads regularly sees crashes and near misses and traffic lights are scheduled for installation later this year to increase safety.

Brendan Shaw said: “I do not know of a more dangerous junction. There is a risk of collision as soon as there is more than one vehicle approaching it, regardless of direction.

“Even for the most aware of drivers, with vehicles travelling on the A360 at 50mph or more, decision and reaction times are far too short.” Clare Jones added: “I turn my car around and head back towards Dauntseys and drive through Littleton Pannell, rather than risk even trying to pull out of Black Dog junction. “Number of times my car has almost been hit is unbelievable.

.. terrifies me, especially when I have my child on board.
