The things Lamar Jackson is doing on the football field this year has been unbelievable. The Baltimore Ravens are benefitting the most, as Jackson has basically lifted them to a 7-3 record and in prime position to overtake first place in the AFC North. The two-time NFL MVP is making a strong case for a third, as he's already matched some of his season totals from last year.
Jackson threw for 3,678 yards with 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions in his 2023 MVP season, while rushing for 821 more and five scores. In 10 games this year, Jackson's thrown for 24 touchdowns to just two interceptions and has 538 rushing yards with two more trips to the endzone. He's clearly caught a hot streak, tossing 15 touchdowns and one interception in his last five games.
Everyone in the league has been put on notice, including Dallas Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons. On The Edge with Micah Parsons , the two-time All Pro said the MVP race isn't even close this year, as Jackson is the frontrunner for the award once again. You talk about the MVP race and you say "who's the next person that's going to be MVP," and that's Lamar Jackson.
.. What Lamar is doing right now, it's not even comparable.
Lamar should be the clear frontrunner for MVP. He's just looked unstoppable. Jackson and Parsons have already faced off this season, with the Ravens beating the Cowboys 28-25 in Week 3.
Unstoppable is probably the best word to describe Jackson's play this season. He hasn't thrown for less than 280 yards over the last six games, with Baltimore going 5-1 in that span. Another MVP would put Jackson on a clear path to Canton in the future.
