ARLINGTON - The Dallas Cowboys won't close the curtains here at AT&T Stadium due to aesthetics and maybe stubbornness. And they haven't had the retractable roof open here in three years, for whatever reason. A few minutes ago as they prepped to host the Houston Texans on "Monday Night Football,'' the moon was going to sine into the stadium because the roof was to be opened.
But just now? A true tragedy was avoided after a frightening development. Last week, an awful blowout loss to the Eagles here was marred by the "controversial'' glare of the sun through the stadium windows. .
.. with owner Jerry Jones as usual opting to not pull the curtains that are indeed available.
But tonight? Almost as if Jones has a sense of humor ...
he had ordered the roof be open - amid game-time temperatures that should be lovely at about 67 degrees - for the first time since October 2022. But Dallas is 3-6 and has lost four in a row and is winless this year and when it rains, it pours ..
. only this time what could've easily fallen on somebody's head wasn't moisture ..
. It was a gigantic piece of sheet metal that apparently came loose during the retraction of the roof. The roof is open at AT&T Stadium for the #DallasCowboys for the first time since Oct.

And now, take a look at what might've caused a very, very serious problem for Jones, AT&T Stadium and the Cowboys. Here is the piece of sheet metal that fell off the @ATTStadium roof — shot by @noah_bullard ..
