County titles up for grabs in Intermediate and Junior Hurling Finals

THREE Limerick clubs hurling finals are down for decision today. The intermediate, premier junior A and junior A championship titles are up for grabs. Croagh Kilfinny and Bruree meet in the Nick Grene Intermediate Hurling Championship Final this evening at 5pm in Mick Neville Park.

James Hall (Ballybrown) is the manager of Croagh Kilfinny and he won the competition with his own club in 2012, as a player. Croagh Kilfinny have only ever won one county title in their 100 plus year history and that was the 2020 Junior A title. (Played in 2021) .



Bruree are aiming to win a first county title since winning the senior hurling championship in 2006. The south Limerick side produced a strong performance against Murroe Boher in their semi-final. Bruree will take huge confidence from that game.

Former Limerick minors hurlers Fionn O’Brien and Conor Frawley have been in impressive form for Bruree in recent weeks. Croagh Kilfinny scored three goals in their semi-final victory over Feohanagh Castlemahon. Former Limerick hurler Seamus Hickey scored two goals in his side’s victory.

Former Limerick footballer Seamus O’Carroll was on target with the other goal. The winner of this weekend's intermediate final will be promoted to the premier intermediate grade for the 2025 season. Feenagh-Kilmeedy face St Patrick's in the Woodlands House Hotel premier junior A hurling championship this afternoon at 3pm in Sean Finn Park, Rathkeale.

Mungret St Paul's were defeated by Feenagh-Kilmeedy in last year's county final. Last year's junior county finalists went forward to represent Limerick in Munster. The west Limerick side reached the Munster final last year.

Feenagh-Kilmeedy will be hoping to go one step further than last year. Feenagh Kilmeedy are aiming to win the junior title for the first time since 2013. St Patrick's have gradually built momentum throughout the championship.

Diarmuid and Gearoid Hegarty have been outstanding for the city based club throughout the championship. Diarmuid and Gearoid have lined out in midfield throughout the championship. The Rhebogue based club last won the junior hurling championship in 2017.

Both sides are looking to make the jump up to intermediate hurling. The winners of this Saturday's clash will represent Limerick in the Munster junior championship. Rathkeale and Monaleen face off in the junior A final in Bruff at 1pm.

Rathkeale bridged a 49-year gap to bring home the West Junior A Hurling title in 2017. The west Limerick club are on a high at the moment. Rathkeale hurlers will hope to win a county title this weekend and their footballers play in the intermediate final next weekend.

Monaleen are a club who have been impressive this year. The Castletroy club won the premier minor hurling championship, reached the SHC quarter-final and they will hope to add a junior A championship to the club's list of honours..
