Adam Henson, a prominent figure on Countryfile, discussed the challenges posed by the recent weather conditions on his farm during a live segment on This Morning, alongside Dr. Scott and hosts Dermot O'Leary and Josie Gibson. While holding a pair of lambs, Adam shared insights into the difficulties they've encountered.

Dr. Scott reflected on the past winter, noting: "It's been a pretty awful wet winter, hasn't it?" Adam agreed, saying: "Yeah, it has been a tough 18 months weather-wise. But the sun is shining now, as you say, the flowers are blooming, and it's beautiful out there now.

" "On the farm itself, lots of ewes are giving birth at this time of year across the country. Also, the spring planting needs to get done, so plenty of long nights and early mornings." Adam mentioned that he has 400 ewes, with half having already given birth.

He added: "We've got the rest ready to give birth now! So all of these ewes in the pens behind us here are due to give birth at any time." Viewers learned that the lambs will stay with their mothers for six months before venturing out on their own, reports the Express . When asked about other necessary tasks on the farm during this season, Adam shared: "There's lots of other animals giving birth.

We've got some calves being born, we had a foal this morning. "We've got piglets, baby guinea pigs, we've got chicks. So, babies galore really! Which is absolutely wonderful.

" Dr Scott pointed out the joy of witnessing new life after the Winter months. Adam continued: "Being able to get back into the fields with the tractors to get all the spring planting done, we're planting all our wild flower margins. "It's a real breath of fresh air to have the sun shining, be able to get back into the fields and to have new life coming into the world.

" In an additional part of their discussion, Dr Scott surprised Dermot and Josie with an endearing gift. He explained: "Look, I've tried to get you guys a little bit of a present in the form of naming two lambs. "Now, I've sort of done good, this is Dermot O'Sheary.

This one, it's a very chatty lamb, I've gone with Josheep Gibson." Dermot and Josie were tickled by the play on words back at the studio, praising it as 'so clever' and sharing a laugh over the names. Countryfile is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
