Concerns have been raised over parking at a Bolton park following two events over the weekend. Moses Gate Country Park saw the re-opening of Rock Hall and the Sizdah Bedar festivities, a Persian festival marking the thirteenth day of the Norouz (Persian New Year). "It was a good day, and it was great to see the festival go so well," Labour Cllr Liam Barnard.

It was a busy day for the area as historic building Rock Hall, which sits in Moses Gate Country Park, hosted the first of three rare open days from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

According to one visitor, there were “hundreds of cars ” parked up for around a mile near the park, which caused some congestion for drivers. Council workers cleaned up the park yesterday morning. One resident said: "It's a beautiful park, but I had no idea about the events, and the parking was awful.

"Had I known I would have gone elsewhere. There was so much rubbish in the park and it about respecting the park, the wildlife, it is a free space for people to visit. "It is about everyone being considerate when visiting the park this summer.
