Costco shopper rejoices after ‘mislabeled price’ moment saved a fortune and it’s all because item was in wrong ‘section’

A LUCKY Costco shopper has managed to bag themselves an incredible bargain on steak due to an accidental mislabel. The bargain hunter paid less than $22 for three thick ribeyes that weighed a whopping 3.55lbs due to what appeared to be a major packaging mistake.

Beef round eye steaks are known as a relatively cheap cut of meat compared to most other preferred steaks. Whereas ribeyes are often regarded as a much better quality and therefore fetch a drastically higher price. The average pound of a ribeye costs up to $13 meaning the very grateful shopper paid just half of what the actual pack should have cost.



The shopper posted a picture of the steaks and the lucky label on Reddit alongside the caption: "I found these in the ribeye section! read more in Costco "Correct me if I’m wrong but these are ribeyes not eye round roasts, and are priced at about half the normal rib eye price!" The labeling mistake was found at a Costco in California and was purchased earlier this week. Dozens of Costco shoppers were quick to react to the bargain find with over 1,000 people up-voting the post. One said: "In my many, many years going to Costco, I've never come across mislabeled prices like this.

While it might seem like the selections are endless at Costco , a member recently spotted a meat they'd never seen in the freezer section during a recent trip to their store. A picture they snapped showed the entirety of a halal lamb wrapped and hanging on a hook with several others near other freezer items.
