Construction inflation in the north-west of the country is three times higher than in Dublin, according to a new report from the Society of Chartered Surveyors in Ireland (SCSI). The north-west has seen a sharp rise in construction activity, including work linked to the massive mica redress scheme which is estimated to cost around €2.4bn of public finance, but the researchers said it was not possible to say if the higher pace of cost inflation there is linked to that work.
