One in three Aussies say cost of living issues will change the way they vote, new research reveals.With Prime Minister Anthony Albanese calling this year’s federal election for May 3, housing affordability and rising costs are front of mind for struggling Aussies heading into the election.New research from comparison site Finder revealed one in three Australians say the rising cost of living has changed how they will vote this year, while a further 26 per cent say they are still making up their mind.

Healthcare and Medicare came in a close second, an important factor for half of the respondents.MORE: ‘Theft’: $90k yearly rip-off fee blastedThis comes as one in five Australians say they are “extremely stressed,” when it comes to their financial situation, while a further 50 per cent said they were “somewhat stressed”.Head of consumer research at Finder Graham Cooke said it was clear cost of living was “front and centre for many voters this election”.
