Cost of living Ireland: 10 social welfare changes coming into effect in the New Year

There will be 10 big changes coming into effect within weeks, from weekly increases to means test changes, income threshold increases and extending certain payments to thousands more people

2025 is just weeks away, and a number of new cost-of-living measures are set to come into effect. Budget 2025 was announced back in October and while some measures were rolled out in the months after, such as cost of living bonuses and double payments, a number of changes won't be made until January. 10 major social welfare changes are being made from the 1st of January that people should be aware of.
