Cosm will launch an immersive animated film about pop art later this month. Inside Pop Art is a 20-minute production that will explore the origins and cultural impact of the movement by enveloping visitors in works by artists such as Roy Lichtenstein, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring. The latest Cosm Studios Original will debut at Cosm Los Angeles on 28 October.
It will also be made available to planetariums, science centres and fulldome theatres that have joined Cosm’s Premium Media Program. Inside Pop Art, which has been produced in partnership with studio Moonraker VFX and director Graham Watts, has been designed specifically for Cosm’s shared reality venues and LED dome displays to showcase influential art in a new and encapsulating format. Cosm unveiled its second shared-reality venue , in Dallas, in August and plays to open a site in Atlanta .
Moonraker VFX's executive creative director, Simon Clarke, said: "We’re pushing the boundaries of storytelling and visual design, creating something that feels true to the iconic movement but provides a fresh take for modern audiences."
