The actor, known for portraying Craig Tinker , is preparing to exit the soap after an impressive 14-year run. Colson, who astonishingly shed 10 stone during the lockdown period, is contemplating what comes next after announcing his departure from the show earlier this year. Joining Corrie at just 11 years old, Smith has expressed gratitude for growing up with the iconic Weatherfield residents. Posting an adorable photo on Instagram of himself in a barn with newborn lambs, he captioned it "Spent my Sunday delivering lambs. Midwife mode: activated.
" Despite leaving Coronation Street, he remains optimistic, saying, "I feel incredibly lucky to have grown up in, on and around Coronation Street," and looks forward to embarking on the next phase of his life. In a warm sentiment, Smith added praise for the soap's longstanding presence: "Long live the cobbles!" Fans are left in suspense over the details of Craig's exit, though speculation hints that it could be quite a spectacle. A source revealed to The Sun: "Craig has grown up on the street, and he's become part of it, so it was a tough decision to make but one that will be worth it.

Colson Smith, who was just 11 when he started on the show, has openly discussed his battles with unhealthy eating habits and weight gain. In a 2021 interview with the Mirror, he shared how relocating to Manchester at 17 exacerbated his struggles, saying: "When everyone else was at uni, I'm sat on bloody Deliveroo every night. So I kind of had got myself into a really unhealthy position where food was a self-harm to me.
