Claire Sweeney has expressed her enduring affection for a certain '90s pop icon as they came together under sad circumstances. The Corrie star and Ian 'H' Watkins took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, with Claire taking to Instagram to honour their decades-spanning bond. In a heartfelt homage, she posted snapshots of the two, who recently gathered to bid an emotional farewell to their beloved friend, The Vivienne.
Mourners assembled at a Denbighshire church last Monday (January 27), to pay their last respects to James Lee Williams. Known to many as The Vivienne, the drag artist was celebrated for triumphing in the inaugural series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK and securing a third-place finish on this year's Dancing On Ice. In 2022, The Vivienne fiercely represented the UK in an all-winners edition of RuPaul's show stateside.
Capturing a tender moment, Claire's Instagram showed her planting a loving kiss on the Steps singer's cheek, followed by a cheerful snapshot of the duo. Delving into their shared past, she also posted a photo from their earlier days, adding: "Friend's for 30 years, thick and thin, fat and slim, boyfriends, breakups and babies. Second pic taken 25 years ago! I always love you my friend @ianhwatkins treasure your friends," reports the Manchester Evening News .
The post certainly struck a chord with her fans and friends alike. Former Corrie co-star Anthony Crank reminisced: "I used to flat share with the Welsh wonder back in the 90s!
