Coronation Street star Alan Halsall has suggested his relationship status to fans after 'rejecting' a romantic set-up. The actor was thought to be single having split from his girlfriend and former co-star Tisha Merry last year. It was in May last year that Alan, who is famed for playing Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap, seemingly confirmed he was single again after five years of dating Tisha.
Alan met Tisha, who played Steph Britton on the cobbles between 2013 to 2018, on set and they began dating shortly after she left the show. It was then reported the pair had split before Alan shared a humorous moment on Instagram which led him to make a dig at single life, and suggesting he might be using dating apps to find a new partner. Ahead of Valentine's Day on Friday (February 14), Alan took to his Instagram Story with a picture of Game of Thrones' Jon Snow, which was already accompanied by a message which read: "Brace yourselves single people.
The Valentine's Day posts are coming," alongside which he added his own crying laughing emoji. It comes after Alan claimed last month that he had been approached by a producer for First Dates to see if he would be interested in applying for the reality show. Fans will know that a number of singletons have headed to the First Dates restaurant, run by maître d' Fred Siriex and also featuring mixologist Merlin Griffiths and waitress Cici Coleman.
Alan shared the humourous post on Instagram Alan took to his Instagram Story and posted a screenshot of the DM he received about the show, alongside laughing emojis and a red cross GIF. He captioned the post: "Just when you thought January couldn't be any more January". The message read: "Hi Alan, I'm one of the producers on 'First Dates' for Channel 4.
We're currently in the early stages of casting for the new series, and we're looking for people from all walks of life to apply and I wondered if you would be interested in applying?" It comes after his daughter Sianna pocked fun at his single status. During a trip to London last summer, the I'm A Celebrity star shared a picture of the sparkly sign for Garrick Theatre's showing of Why Am I So Single?. Alongside it type on his Instagram Story: "Sieanna as we are driving past: 'Hey dad, look.
There's one for you'. #FFS.".
