In 2023, viewers saw Jenny Connor and her stepdaughter Daisy Midgeley purchase the iconic tavern with illicit funds after it had been closed for some time. The money came from the accounts of Jenny's deceased ex, Stephen Reid, which Daisy managed to access.

Stephen had embezzled from Carla Connor's factory accounts, prompting the pair to buy the pub with the intention of secretly reimbursing Carla. But as secrets tend to unravel on the cobbles, Carla discovered their scheme, leaving them indebted to her. Next week's spoilers reveal a distraught Jenny as Carla informs her of the need to repay Lisa Swain, leading to her decision to put the pub up for sale, reports Leicestershire Live .

Jenny is later seen pleading with Carla for the first option to repurchase the Rovers, an exchange that piques Daisy's curiosity. What is Jenny plotting, and can she manage to secure the pub once more? This development follows Vicky Myers, who plays Lisa, hinting at the possibility of her character taking over the taps at the Rovers. The 49-year-old actress, who became a regular on the street in 2024 after debuting in 2021, discussed her real-life pub background on the recent episode of Off Script.

Liz queried during the conversation, "Now I believe you used to live in a pub, so you could be pulling some pints in the Rovers Return?" to which Vicky confidently affirmed, "I did, absolutely no problem!". The Rovers Return Inn pub being put up for sale coincides with the exit of actress Charlotte Jordan, who plays Daisy in ITV's Coronation Street, following a memorable five-year run. Earlier in the year, 29-year-old Charlotte shared insights into her departure from the show, saying: "My time at Coronation Street is something I'll always cherish.

" She elaborated, "After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it's time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities." Expressing appreciation for her stint on the show, Charlotte remarked: "It's been a privilege to be part of a wonderful institution with even more wonderful colleagues who have taught me so much."
