A new storyline is being lined up for Corrie’s Tina O’Brien (Picture: ITV/REX/Shutterstock)Coronation Street are lining up a hot new romance for Sarah Platt after actress Tina O’Brien signed on the dotted line for another year of drama.The actress is the third to portray Sarah, having arrived on the ITV soap in 1999.Since then she’s been part of some of the show’s biggest and most controversial storylines, most notably when she discovered she was pregnant aged 13.
Sarah has constantly been unlucky in love – her most recent marriage to Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) broke down when he learnt of her affair, and subsequent pregnancy with Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths).Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) then became concerned that she was reconnecting with her husband Gary Windass (Mikey North), who Sarah was once engaged to.In the last year alone she’s lost her family home in a devastating blaze, supported daughter Bethany (Lucy Fallon) following her botched plastic surgery and subsequent fitting of a stoma bag, and waved off her mum Gail (Helen Worth) to a new life in France.
Sarah is set for an explosive new romance with Kit Green (Picture: ITV)The explosive stories aren’t going to stop there though, as Metro understands that she has a major romance story upcoming with Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), that will bring huge complications to the cobbles.As viewers know, Kit had a brief fling with her sister-in-law Shona (Julia Goulding) last year, which was just one catalyst for brother David’s (Jack P. Shepherd) reckless behaviour.
Living across the corridor from one another in the swanky Redbank Apartments, it was only a matter of time before they stumbled into the wrong flat...
