Coronation Street fans are certain they know who Sally Metcalfe will foster with husband Tim. Sally (Sally Dynevor) has been a staple on the ITV soap since 1986. And it’s fair to say she’s played a part in several big storylines over the years.
From heartbreaking cancer battles and spats on the famous street to shock affairs and her beloved marriage to Tim (Joe Duttine), Sally’s time in Weatherfield has not been short of drama. And over on the long-running soap recently, Sally was left stunned after Tim dropped a major life-changing bombshell on her: that he wanted them to foster. Tim’s idea came after he cared for troubled youngster Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan) earlier this year - before Mason was tragically murdered.
At first, Sally wasn’t sure about fostering - but she changed her tune. However, during Friday’s episode (April 11) she backtracked once more after naughty teenager Hope (Isabella Flanagan) pulled a prank on Sally and Tim. Tim was gutted to hear Sally didn’t want to go ahead with their plan - but that didn’t stop him from browsing the website later on, before clicking the ‘more information’ tab.
Now, fans are certain that Sally and Tim are going to go ahead with fostering - and they ‘know’ exactly who it is. Sharing their thoughts online, fans reckon they could take young offender Brody (Ryan Mulvey) under their wing. Brody made his debut earlier this year when Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) was sent to a Secure Training Centre after his involvement in the death of Mason.
Brody’s caused plenty of drama so far - and last month, amid fan speculation, it was claimed that his parents are actually the new nightmare neighbours on the Steet: Lou (Farrel Hegarty) and Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton). What’s more, with reports that Mick and Lou are both set to leave this summer in an explosive storyline, son Brody could potentially then be fostered by Sally and Tim. Predicting the couple’s new foster child, on a Corrie Facebook fan page, one person wrote: “I like this new direction for Sally and Tim! Given how involved they were with Mason, the producers have done a good job.
I wonder who they will foster?” Someone else added: “I think it will be that Brody. His mum and dad are leaving aren’t they!” A third penned: “Yeah Brody probably.” Echoing their thoughts, another person penned: “100%.
” Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
