Cops seize 57,000 kg of beef from two containers

Pune: The Pune Rural police on March 25 confiscated two container trucks and seized 57,000 kg of beef, which was being transported to Nhava Sheva port in New Mumbai from Hyderabad. The police recovered documents, which mentioned that it was buffalo meat that was being transported to New Mumbai, from the drivers. However, the forensic laboratory in Pune on Saturday confirmed that the seized meat was beef.
