Pune: The Chandannagar police have recovered blood-stained clothes and a pair of shoes of the software engineer Madhav Rao Tiketi (38), who was arrested on March 20 allegedly for killing his three-and-a-half year old son. Senior inspector Seema Dhakne on Friday said, "We recovered Tiketi's blood-stained shirt and pants dumped behind a garbage bin in a fish market at Kharadi. Additionally, we also recovered his blood-stained shoes, two blades, a knife and a bike which he revealed during questioning.

" Dhakne said, "We also found CCTV footage of Tiketi riding a bike with his son before the crime. We also found CCTV footages from a bar, where he consumed liquor, a store where he purchased three blades, a knife, three lollipops and a garments store where he changed his blood-stained clothes and purchased and wore new clothes." The police officer said investigations revealed Tiketi took the drastic decision to slit his son's throat with sharp weapons because of frequent domestic disputes with his wife, Swaroopa (30), also a techie.

"We questioned Tiketi to find out if there was any other probable motive behind the murder, but throughout the interrogation, the accused maintained that he wanted to get rid of his child because the relations between him and his wife had turned sour." Meanwhile, inspector (crime) Swati Khedkar produced Tiketi before a magisterial court following the end of his custodial remand. Khedkar filed a remand report to send the accused into magisterial custody remand.

The court ordered his magisterial custodial remand until April 11. He was later sent to the Yerawada Central Prison. Stay updated with the latest city news , Air Quality Index (AQI), and weather updates for major cities like Delhi , Mumbai , Noida , and Bangalore on Times of India .
