KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 67 individuals, including 46 foreign women, were detained following raids on gambling dens in the city. The raids were conducted by Bukit Aman and the Kuala Lumpur CID Anti-Vice, Gambling and Secret Societies Division (D7) at Jalan Pudu, Jalan Petaling, and Kepong on Friday (Nov 22). Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa stated that those detained included 15 Bangladeshi women, four Indian women, 10 Indonesian women, four Thai women, and 12 Vietnamese women.

"We also detained six Bangladeshi men, five Nepalese men, two men from Myanmar, one man from India, and seven locals," he said in a statement on Sunday (Nov 24). All those detained have been remanded, he added. Investigation papers have been opened under Section 327B and Section 373 of the Penal Code and the Immigration Act.



"We urge those with information on any criminal activities, including prostitution, to contact the KL police hotline at 03-2115999 or the nearest police station," he said..
