Pune: The Mahalunge MIDC police on Sunday registered a case against 10 people from Pait village in Khed taluka for creating a ruckus at a primary health centre. The incident happened on Sept 4, when the suspects barged into the centre and threatened a 34-year-old doctor for not arranging an ambulance for a patient. The suspects also prevented him from doing his work, police said.

The suspects have been charged under sections 132 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 189, and 191 (rioting) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). An officer from the Mahalunge MIDC police said according to the complainant, on Sept 4, when the complainant was checking the patients in OPD, the suspects came and started abusing him for not providing an ambulance to a man who was bitten by a snake. "The suspects were demanding to transfer the ambulance driver.

They also threatened the complainant that they would transfer him and did not allow him to check the patients at the OPD," he said. The officer said the police have ascertained the identities of the four suspects. "Our investigations are on," he said.
